This is a hefty spindle at 100g / 3.5 oz, according to my scale. I haven't tried to spin with it yet, but it feels nicely balanced,and there's a lovely polish on both the wood and the stone. The display box it comes in is just snapped together MDF, I think - mine fell to pieces when I first opened it up, though it wasn't difficult to reassemble. It also really does come with that sample of partly-spun wool.
